This ultimate door jamb repair and reinforcement kit provides up to 12 gauge thickness, at a total height of 59-1/2-inch when fully installed. It is designed to replace the smaller, vulnerable latch and deadbolt strikes commonly installed with entry door hardware. The door edge guards in this kit fit on 1-3/4-inch thick doors, and the latch plate comes with optional knock-out plugs to accommodate 2 different knob-to-lock hole center spacings. For doors with a large enough gap between the jamb and the edge of the door, these plates can be easily mounted on the surface of the door jamb, while others may require the plates to be mortised into the jamb for a better fit.
