The Battery Powered Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector (2 AA batteries included), model 900-CUDR-V, is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking to make sure the alarm is on and working. This smoke and carbon monoxide detector combo helps protect you and your family from 2 dangerous threats – fire and carbon monoxide (CO) – in one device. Additionally, the included mounting bracket makes installation quick and easy. Battery-powered smoke detectors, like this model, provide reliable detection even during power outages, for extra peace of mind.
One-Touch Button - Unique cat-eye button on the face of the detector performs the following functions: Activates the Hush feature to temporarily silence nuisance alarms. Tests the unit’s electronics and verifies proper operation. Resets the carbon monoxide smoke detector combo during a CO alarm (Unit will re-enter alarm within 6 minutes of reset if 70ppm or more of CO is present). Silences a low battery chirp for up to 24 hours at a time for a maximum of 7 days. Silences the end of life chirp on this carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm for up to 24 hours at a time for a maximum of 7 days.
This is a photoelectric smoke alarm, meaning it may better detect the larger, visible fire particles that are associated with slow smoldering fires. Industry experts recommend using both photoelectric smoke detectors, like this one, and ionization smoke detectors which may better detect smaller, less visible fire particles, like those that are associated with fast-flaming fires. Install both types throughout your house for comprehensive smoke & fire detection.
