Description
“Pole buildings” are also known as “pole barns” or “post frame buildings”. They rely on wood post foundations. These posts are pressure treated solid, glue laminated, or nail laminated columns. Although they are treated, soil contact, concrete contact, moisture, insects, etc, can lead to post decay or post rot. Post Protector delivers a simple, affordable, and effective “barrier system” so that anything potentially harmful to the post, can never come in contact with the post. It allows for typical “post in the ground” post frame construction technique while achieving a far superior wood post foundation. Post Protector eliminates the most common concern with pole barn construction – post longevity.
Post decay occurs when certain conditions exist; moisture saturation of wood fiber, oxygen & temperature range of 40 to 100-degrees F. Together these conditions enable the living micro-organisms, abundant in soil, to colonize the post using the wood fiber as their food source. Post Protector is a “Barrier System” that eliminates soil contact and the ability for the soil dwelling micro-organisms, the cause of decay, to access the post.
