Garden lovers will always want what they grow in the garden to last as long as possible. Early fall we tackled repurposing pampas grass using spray paint in an earlier blog (see pic).
Today we will turn them into a beautiful wreath. |

Things you will need:
- Painted pampas grass
- Metal ring (we repurposed one from a broken tomato cage)
- Spray paint
- Twine
- Floral wire
- Glue gun and glue sticks

If you have an old tomato cage or broken one laying around, you can repurpose it for this project. Spray paint to your desired color. We did ours in off white.

Start laying out how you want the grass to flow. You can create many designs. Off to one side, make a complete circle, let them hang on one side.

You have to pick the right section of the grass in relative to the curve of the wreath. Grass’ natural curve will fit perfectly onto the wreath without having to bend it. Snip off with your fingers or scissors. Use floral wire to secure the stem.

Start the next layer and overlap the stem underneath the previous section so that you can wrap the wire under it and it won’t be shown.

Use twine to wrap around the exposed wire and finish it off with the glue gun.

The twine is part of the design element. You can wrap it all around the wreath or in several sections as shown.

You can display this on the front door, hang it on the wall or lay it on the table as a center piece accent as well. Don’t forget, when guests come, you can proudly say “ look what I made from my garden!”. We hope you enjoy this project. Happy Fall decorating. |
