Replacing a Ceiling Fixture

1. Before removing old fixture TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER and note assembly.

2. Remove 3/4" inch of insulation from wires with wire stripers. |

| 3. Temporarily support heavy fixtures with a coat hanger or a strong cord. | 4. Screw a nipple into a hickey; thread hickey onto stud. Note wires exit through a hickey’s side. |

5. After the fixture is secure, connect wires, and coil up wires into the box. |
6. Turn on power. If fixture comes on, shut off power again and secure the canopy. |
