Description
Scotts®Turf Builder®Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix®thrives in a variety of conditions. This mix contains Root-Building Nutrition, a combination of ingredients that is expertly crafted to help establish deep roots to grow thick, green turf so that you can build a better, stronger lawn from the roots up. Scotts®Turf Builder®Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix®is designed for full sun and dense shade, and has medium drought resistance with medium to high durability. It can be used to seed a new lawn or overseed an existing lawn. For best results, apply in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55-degrees F and 70-degrees F or air temperatures are between 60-degrees F and 80-degrees F. We recommend using a Scotts®spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 2.4 lb. bag of Scotts®Turf Builder®Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix®has a new lawn coverage of 320 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 960 sq. ft.
Application & Planting Information
- PREP New Lawns Rake area to loosen the top layer of soil (approximately 2"" deep) and remove any dead grass or debris, ensuring seed-to-soil contact.
- Overseeding Mow lawn at the lowest setting and bag the clippings.
- Rake to remove debris, dead grass, and loosen the soil, ensuring seed-to-soil contact.
- APPLY Use a Scotts® spreader to apply the seed at the recommended spreader setting.
- RAKE Lightly rake the seed into the soil to ensure seed is covered just beneath the soil surface.
- Where Not to Use
- Do not apply near water, storm drains or drainage ditches.
- When to Apply
- This grass seed mix should be planted in spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 75°F, or air temperatures are between 65°F and 85°F.
- Do not apply if heavy rain is expected.
- After opening, plant within the season.
- Sweep any product that lands on the driveway, sidewalk, or street back onto your lawn.
- For the best results, use fresh product.
- Watering Tips
- Lawn seed should be watered daily or as needed to keep the soil moist for at least 3 weeks or until seedlings reach 2 inches in height.
