Thumbprint Pumpkin Paint

Published on

Gather up the kiddos for these 2 fun pumpkin painting projects using your thumbs!

Things you will need:

Use the thumb to start the spiders’ body. You might want to keep the paint a little thick. You can go over it a few times if you can’t get the print the first time.

This acrylic craft paint is easy to wash off with water. Let the paint dry completely then draw those spidy legs and cobwebs!

You will need 3 layers of paint as shown. We recommend using glow-in the dark or fluorescent paint for optimum eye popping affect (see what we did here!).

Turn your thumb/finger side ways and start the first layer for the white part of the eyes. Let dry and start the next layer with all the different colors. Don’t worry if it is not perfect or smooth. They are supposed to look spooky! While it is drying, you can start drawing eye lashes with the markers.

When both layer dry, it’s time to draw the inner eyes. You could use a thick black marker or black paint, paint brush or your finger!

If you have a black light, the fluorescent/glow-in-the-dark googly eyes will certainly pop! This project will be fun for the whole family!
