Picket Fence Bunnies

Published on

This super simple craft is a total bunny magnet, perfect for the season with all those fluffy little hopsters sneaking between the fence! This can make a fun craft for kids and adults alike. Let’s hop to it!

Things you will need:

We used treated picket fence boards for this project. The surface could get a little rough. We recommend sanding the surface prior to painting and staining.

We experimented with both paint and natural color stains. The quart size from Rustoleum and Minwax is the perfect amount. You can certainly make used of left over paint too.

Paint or stain each side and let dry. Depending on where you will display these, you could leave the other side untouched if you were to lean them against a wall. Either way, be sure to paint the thicker sides all around.

Once they are dry, it’s time to make the bunnies appear.

If you are not a painter, this is an easy way to start those ears. Dap a globe of paint and drag it up to make tiny ears. You can certainly paint them too. We ending up painting them a little thicker to be more noticeable.

Use a black marker to draw the eyes and whiskers. Add a little bunny nose with a dap of paint using a smaller brush.

Let’s give them a fabulous makeover! How about some snazzy spring scarves or dapper bow ties. Have fun! It's style time! You can hang a mason jar filled with spring flowers too. Show them off at your front porch. What a great way to welcome spring.
