Just 'cause it's sizzling hot outside doesn't mean you have to stop planting! We have this DIY that will keep you cool while, you enjoy seeing plants grow indoors. It's a mix of craft and DIY in one!

Things you will need:
- A sheet of Plywood or scrap wood you have laying around
- A band saw, a circular saw or a miter saw
- Drill and a drill bit
- Spray Paint
- Wood glue
- Sand paper
- Wood clamps
- Colorful yarns
- Succulent potting mix
- Succulent plants
- Rainbow rocks
- Paper liner (optional)

We are making a rectangular planter (10.5" Lx6.5" Wx5" H). Using a band saw, circular saw or miter saw, cut plywood into (2)wide panels (1) base (2) side panels . Sand all rough edges.

Fun part continues. Plan out your pattern on one big side panel. Depending what kind of thread you use, you need to make sure the drill head is not too big or too small.

Glue all panels together as shown and clamp to let dry overnight.

Spray paint the box in an open area and let dry.

Lay out your color pattern and take a picture so you can remember. Use a needle and thread it through same as sewing. If you do not, we found using the drill bit to push it through is as effective. We used a glue gun to adhere the strings in the back, then trim off excess.

Since succelents require less watering, we used this Sutherlands liner paper on the bottom before adding soil and start planting.

There it is. How cute is this? You can sprinkle rainbow rocks on top for that desert look. What a fun way to beat the heat and enjoy your creation inside. Stop by Sutherlands for any indoor plant food to keep your succulents and indoor foliage plant fed and healthy all year long.
