If you are a fan of Harry Potter, the floating candles is one of the amazing techniques creating a magical illusion. Counting down to Hallowen ourselves, we will give this look a try.
Things you will need:
- Battery operated candle sticks
- Spray paint
- Masking tape
- Disposable gloves
- Clear glue (optional)
- Clear stretch cord
- Damage free hanging hooks (optional)
Unscrew the battery covers. Use masking tape to cover the wicks. Spray all surfaces. You can also try to prop the stick straight up to dry to avoid it sticking to the paper.
Tie each candle with the clear stretchy string. The length depends on where you will hang them. If you are going to make them float from the ceiling, you can attach the clear clip on the ceiling and hang each candle from it. Tying the string to make a knots on the candle wicks can be slippery. You can always use clear glue to insure it stays.
We hung ours from a cut branch from the back yard. Get creative with it. You can hang them underneath the fireplace mantles too. Great way to dress it up for Halloween.
