Landscape Stones Turn End Table

Published on

How many stones does it take to make a fun side table that won’t get blown away!? The answer is 4 edgers and one stepping stone. Let’s play.

Things you will need:

First, decide if you want to keep the stone its natural color. If that is the case, you can skip to the gluing stage.

We want to give Beyond Paint a try. It is a specialty paint that requires no priming or sanding. It can adhere to practically anything, which is great for painting cabinets and furniture. You can also use it on masonry, like this project.

We rolled the larger areas first and used a brush to paint around the tight areas. This paint is low odor, so you can easily do it inside, away from the heat of summer. Fast drying, only 2-4 hours. We only used one coat as it is very thick and has great coverage, but you can go over it again.

As we mentioned earlier how this new piece of outdoor accent won’t be blown away, we suggest you assemble this where you want to put it. It will be quite heavy to move. Using the outdoor caulk will ensure strong adhesion. We decided to only glue 3 pieces of the legs together (as shown) since the weight is more manageable. You should glue all 4 legs and top together if this table will be in high traffic area where it could get knocked over. Clamp the bottom 2 pieces together and let dry overnight. For extra protection, apply concrete sealer.

Stand up the 3-preassembled legs, put the 4th in place and lay the table top stone. The 16 “ top is very heavy so it is able to keep the loose leg in place. We recommend you play it safe by gluing them all in one piece.

You can use this as an end table on your porch or patio. Better yet, you can lay a birdbath or display a beautiful planter in your landscape. It will make a great hardscape accent in your garden.
