2025 Home Design Trends

Published on

Hey everyone! We asked Steph from our Wornall store what trends we can expect to see in 2025 and what trends will be left behind. Check out Steph's hot takes below! Let us know what you think on our socials :)

What trends do you think will be big in 2025 for home design?

I still see a huge trend in earthy hues, warm wood stains, and natural-sustainable materials. Bringing nature inside to make the home feel more cozy and comfortable.

I'm seeing bold colors returning to the kitchen and bath cabinets. Mixed metals is also a huge trend taking off. No more matching appliances-to-faucets-to-cabinet hardware.

People are starting to trend more towards granite and other natural countertop surfaces. This includes a big uptick in wood/butcher block countertops. More islands, more open kitchens, and more storage. I also see a new trend of bringing back the "Butler's Pantry" or hidden kitchen behind the main kitchen. A place to do most of the work in order to keep the kitchen a more social space.

What trends will be left in 2024?

Stark white cabinet finishes. Light gray cabinet finishes. Gray floors.

Open shelving has started to see a downturn. People tend to want to "hide" their dishes and things within cabinets vs. open shelving. The minimalist kitchen is going away. People are opting for vibrant colors and mixes of materials and finishes-along with a mix of earthy tones. They want a functional kitchen with lots of workspace and the feeling of warmth and life.

What colors will be big for homes in 2025?

Everything from deep purples to rich green hues. Warm whites to wood surfaces. Vibrant yellows and deep reds. Anything goes when it comes to making your space uniquely yours. I'm seeing so much more personalization of space. Surround yourself with colors and materials that make you happy. I'm thrilled with this upcoming trend!
