We have a diy straight from our lawn and garden into your living room. Guess what this end table originally was made from?! Check out our material list for this project .

Things you will need:
- 2 Pots (Beehives as pictured varied by store)
- Epoxy glue and wood glue
- Spray paint
- Lumber
- Band saw or Jig saw
- Electric Stapler
- Sand paper
- Tape measure
- Beam compass (optional)
- Paintable caulk (option)

Firstl, choosing the right planters and shape is important. You need to choose ones with smooth edges on the top, without any fold/lips. Just stack them up first to judge if the shape will look good as a table. We chose this beehive resin planter for its natural modern design and they are not too heavy. You can leave the color as it is or spray paint to whatever color best suits your home decor (assuming that you don’t need to seal the gap).

We used Devcon Home 5-min epoxy for this project. It is easy to use and provide a strong bond for any interior project. If there is a big gap in the middle, you can also use a paintable caulk to seal the gap.

After the planters are firmly attached, spray paint to your desired color and texture. We used Chalked spray to give our planter a matte finish.

You can stop here if you just want to turn this into a taller planter. You might want to drill a hole through for drainage if you plan to use this outside. We are making ours for indoor use.

Next we will work on making a table top/lid. You can use a solid wood for a nice smooth texture. They tend to be a bit more expensive. If you want to keep this more economical, we recommend this precut 1/2" birch plywood.
Measure the diameter of the planter. We will make this to overhang just a bit. We made 2 circles; one top lid and one on the underside to keep the lid from moving. To make a circle, you can use a beam compass or use a string method (please see our previous post on how-to).

(Left) Make 2 circles on the lid piece showing where you will glue the underside piece.

Cut circles with a jigsaw, sand the rough edges and glue the 2 pieces together. To keep them extra secure, staple on the underside. You can stain or paint this to match your decor. We prefer the raw wood look.

What a great multi-purpose diy! You can store a small blanket or book inside this table as well. Enjoy!
