How about some fun with a little project for your fiddo?! We are going to take this diy toy feeder for a spin (literally!)

Things you will need:
- Sheet lumber or fiberboard
- Pipe and caps
- Empty plastic bottles
- Mitre saw or Circular saw
- Drill, band saw
- Sandpaper
- Screws
- Tape measure
- Box cutter
- Clamps
- Glue
- Paint or spray paint

We made our base size 12" x 17". Side panels are14" tall and 8 “ wide.
You want to make sure your base is heavy enough so it won’t get tipped over. As for the side panels, you can make them any shape you’d like. But make sure your tallest bottles will have room to spin.

To draw half circles, mark the center of the side panels where you will drill the hole for the pipe and mark the highest point. Use a protractor to draw the half oval. Use a band saw or reciprocating saw to cut along the line. Smoothen rough edges with sandpaper.

Determine the size of the counter sink to drill holes by placing it against the pipe. Drill both side panels.

Predrill the nail holes on both side panels. We used fiberboard, it is not the strongest. This will avoid any splitting once you screw in the nails. For extra strength, apply glue first before drilling the nails to attach. Let dry.

You can brush on paint or spray paint with your favorite colors. We find it pretty easy to spray different colors, using a board to protect it from smearing or you can tape it. What is you puppy fav color?

Cut the hole close to the bottle opening (as shown) at each end to thread the pipe through. Pipe caps will keep it from sliding out. Give it a spin to make sure it won’t get stuck and that it can flip all the way around smoothly. We suggest trying with one bottle first. Experiment with a different size bottle depending on the size of your dog.

Put in their Sutherlands favorite treats. You might have to show them how the treat will come out a few times.
(Note: This game might not work on all pups depending on their temperament. The playful they are the more fun they will have. Our team’s dogs, Squeaks and Sky were kind of scared of the sudden movement. This is not their favorite. We hope yours will enjoy it!)
Stop by your local Sutherlands and we can help gather all the materials and the best dog treats in our pet department.
