Horse Shoe Decor
We used a smooth precut fiberboard for this project. You can print out a pattern or draw the shape of the horseshoe yourself. We ended up with 18.5" wide x 17" tall. Clamp the board to the sawhorse and start cutting.
Once done, sand all rough edges. If you plan to hang, drill a hole on each side of the shoe.
Decorating time! We painted this white and wrapped garland around it. You can hot glue individual flowers all around as well. Use a bow or twine to hang for a rustic modern look.
Numeric DERBY Mason Jar Table Decor
Our color scheme is red, black, white, and gold. You can determine what you want the jar lettering to say: Derby, Party, Year, etc. We sprayed the lid in white and alternating red/black colors to spell “DERBY”. The horse figurines added a fun touch to this project. Many Sutherlands stores have vintage toys and horse figurines in stock. Spray paint to the desired color scheme.
Drinking Glass Tray
Artificial grass turf is a must-have at this party. We used a tabletop tray and cut the turf to fit right in. No gluing is required! We hot glued the red bows onto the mason jars to coordinate with the red and white theme. So easy and fun! (Dig out your kids’ old toys. The big horse looks like porcelain, but it is all plastic thanks to the magic of gloss paint!)
