How to Read Your Water Meter

To read a water meter start with the 100,000 dial. Look at the last digit it has passed. In the above example, it is a 2. Next go the 10,000 dial, the 1,000 dial and so on. In this example it reads, 217961 cubic feet. Go back later and read it again. Subtract the first number from the second number to get usage.
